Introducing LECOUR, created originally on the body. LECOUR remasters original painted art into the wearable patterns you see today. The artist, “JD” or “The Caviar of Body art” is a professional Artist/Designer on the island of Maui, Hawaii and has been perfecting his craft for over 25 years. He pioneered the process of creating “live” outfits with Art on the body using his proprietary technique and materials and has been honing his craft worldwide.

In 2001, JD started his journey designing temporary body art in his unique style, with Jagua ink from the rainforest, on Front Street, Lahaina. A small shop, steps from the ocean, creating art on travelers from all over the world.  After a year, JD opened his first resort poolside shop at the Four Seasons on both island of Maui & Lanai. Designing in this high profile environment, JD’s art quickly gained traction with all ages & celebrity’s with his semi-permanent art form.

JD had dreams of his art becoming more permanent, and not be able to wash away, so he created a new form of removable high fashion body art and caused a stir with his unconventional way of designing on bodies, testing the limits on what was acceptable. But that did not stop JD and his team. With little resources and a big dream, they hired a tour bus and found themselves on tour with Snoop Dogg, highlighting the high fashion body art on his stage. After many performances around the country, dressing hundreds of models, they found themselves at a crossroads. How can we make this permanent and re-wearable?

After years of obstacles and delays, JD was invited to participate in the 2021 Vancouver Fashion Week. JD and his team produced 6 outfits and all were underwater shoots. It was a raving success. There was new excitement for our unique style of designing clothing.

The dream had stayed alive for many years, and after some time, we created LECOUR, mixing the caviar of body art with cloth. Now for the first time, you can wear our fashion patterns that have been lovingly created, using our unique designs and printing them on fabric. These are remastered patterns from the previous paintings made on the models.

We have many experiences we look forward to sharing with you that tell our artistic history. Our art is a language. Get ready to be altered.
